The Princess' Dream Citadel

The Princess' Dream Citadel is a tower surrounded by waterfalls on all sides, surrounded by a spiral staircase that reaches every floor. At the top is a reflective platform below a starry moonlit sky. Within its many floors are any number of amenities that the Princess or the good-allured knights good need.

Each night, the Protector can be found on the roof, stargazing and listening to the sounds of the waterfalls around the tower.

"When they are killed, they will return for as long as a purpose exists to bring them back. Without that purpose, or if left to age, they will cease to exist." He clarifies, watching them both.

"The purpose they live for is the mistake of wishing for this world's destruction. To lay that wish to rest is to bury them alongside it. They will all share one grave, one dug to save the world."

[She reflects on the Protector's words for a moment.] Are the monsters... inherently evil? All of them? I mean, Knights can be swayed. What about them?

It just seems like... a waste that they all have to die with her.

"Eh... if their whole purpose for being is to destroy the world, I don't see much use in trying to change their minds. Especially since some seem barely sentient anyway. Did we say where they came from? Or did the Wizard make them herself?"

"They stole the magic that was meant to save this world to bring themselves into being and pursue their own goals. You have seen for yourselves the way they behave." He answers, shaking his head.

"They will kill because they must kill. They are made to do so. Some will lower your guard, earn empathy from you, and then kill you in the night." He narrows his eyes, voice growing cold as he explains:

"They are driven by one purpose and will not be swayed from it. Strike them down without hesitation, or it will be you that falls instead."

[She frowns, resting her chin on one hand and looking at the floor.] Alright... [She says it softly, clearly not enthused about the thought. Sometimes fighting the monsters can be fun, but she's still someone who had only ever killed mosquitoes before coming here!

It'll just take some getting used to.]

"Hm." Luka nods along. "It's the only way to deal with these things. They seem less like beasts and more like tools for the Wizard."

Nothing about killing the monsters to save the world was easy, but it had to be done. He makes an affirmative sound at Luka when he says it's the only way to deal with these things.

"You are correct. She will use them for whatever ends she can get."
